Months and months after being announced, this DVD has finally become available from some outlets.

The Byrds – The Lost Broadcasts

Roger McGuinn, Clarence White, Gene Parsons, Skip Battin, Jimmi Seiter

Label: Gonzo

The Lost Broadcasts are a series of DVD sets featuring performances that have rarely been seen since the original transmission on german television, in some cases more than forty years ago.

The Byrds first session from the 19th of May 1971 featured newer material including Chestnut Mare from the band’s critically well received album Untitled alongside the classic songs So You Want To Be A Rock ‘N’ Roll Star, Mr Tambourine Man and Eight Miles High. The second session comes from October 1972 and they perform three versions of Black Mountain Rag and two versions of So You Want To Be A Rock ‘N’ Roll Star.

1. Chestnut Mare 1

2. Chestnut Mare 2

3. Eight Miles High

4. Mr Tambourine Man

5. Black Mountain Rag 1

6. Black Mountain Rag 2

7. Black Mountain Rag 3

8. So You Want to Be A Rock 'N' Roll Star 1

9. So You Want to Be A Rock 'N' Roll Star 2
