Jim Dickson in 1967 during the recording sessions for the David Hemmings Happens LP.
Famous record producer and early Byrds manager JIM DICKSON passed away on April 19, 2011 in Costa Mesa , Ca.
He produced recordings by The Byrds, Gene Clark, David Crosby, Clarence White, The Flying Burrito Brothers, Gram Parsons...and many other artists outside the Byrds circle.
The best 14 tracks from Kaffenberger And Antonacci's early 1980s Christian Folk-Rock LPs SOMEONE GREATER and PILGRIM, plus one bonus track, have finally been digitized, remixed and remastered with some tasteful Rickenbacker Electric 12-String guitar (à la The Byrds) added to seven of the tracks.
All the music is in the style of Neil Young - Byrds - Buffalo Springfield.
These 15 total songs are available through CD Baby at this link (digital download only):
There are 30-second previews available as well as detailed track information. For those folks interested only in tracks with the Rickenbacker, those are clearly marked in the online notes.

Gene Clark's 1977 album Two Sides To Every Story to be re-released on CD at last in June
2011.
Received from Gene Clark's son Kai Clark:
Hello everyone!!!
High Moon Records will be re-releasing my father's album "Two Sides
To Every Story" with the release date set to be sometime in June.
This is great news as "Two Sides To Every Story" is one of
the rarest Gene Clark albums to find on CD, or at all for that matter.
This will be the first time it has been released on CD in almost 20
years!!!
There will be a launch party on April 29th at the Roxy theatre in
Los Angeles where I will be performing the album in its entirety with
my band and also other Gene Clark gems. There will be some very special guests
(some of who will be joining me on stage) at this event. Also
performing will be remaining members of Love, performing their never released
album "Black Beauty" album. Please go to my site to find more
information and links.
NOTE : Considering problems that arose with Gene Clark releases in the past, we have some doubts about this being a legit release.

Country singer Charlie Louvin passed away yesterday
(January 26) at the age of 83.
A big influence on the country-era Byrds, he co-wrote "The
Christian Life" with his brother Ira, a song The Byrds covered on their "Sweetheart
Of The Rodeo" LP from 1968.
Gram Parsons (who brought the song to The Byrds) also
covered the Louvins' "Cash On The Barrelhead" on his "Grievous Angel" LP.
