THE BYRDS

ANOTHER BYRDS FLYGHT EXCLUSIVE !

Here are some previously unseen pictures of The Byrds.

They were taken during their European trip in 1967.

On February 27 and 28,1967, the band spent some time in studio 4 at the Radiohuset of the Swedish Broadcasting Corporation in Stockholm.

It was during that visit that they recorded the tracks that were later issued on the unofficial LP (and later on CD) LIVE IN STOCKHOLM 1967 (and later on numerous other unofficial CDs).

Two of these tracks, ROLL OVER BEETHOVEN and HE WAS A FRIEND OF MINE were later used officially on the Byrds Box Sets from 1990 and 2006, with due credits in the booklet.

Gunnar Olofsson, who attended the sessions, says :

"They played their own instruments and Crosby was very picky about the harmonies. They did several takes before he was satisfied."

The picture at the top of this page was taken at the Stockholm airport.

The 8 other pictures hereunder were taken by GUNNAR OLOFSSON.

They were sent to BYRDS FLYGHT by KENNETH HEDLÖÖF.

Sincere thanks to both of them.
